This article provides instructions on integrating Cisco Meraki with Lifecycle Manager.
Integrating Cisco Meraki with Lifecycle Manager lets you streamline asset management by syncing regular Meraki devices (like MX, MR, MS, etc.) and Systems Manager assets, including RMM and MDM tools. This integration also supports Meraki's operating system software, providing a comprehensive view of your network infrastructure.
Supported licensing models - Our integration with Cisco Meraki supports both Cisco Meraki’s per-device licensing and co-termination licensing.

Integration steps in Cisco Meraki
A change was made to remove the requirement to manually enable dashboard API access for each organization (previously, this was a checkbox under Organization > Settings). Since access is automatically enabled for all organizations, the API key generated by an admin account can pull information from any other organizations where that account has administrative access.
Create a Meraki administrator account and generate an API key
To ensure access, you can start by creating a new dashboard administrator account. Follow these instructions:
- Set up the administrator account in a network or organization you want it to access: Managing Dashboard Administrators and Permissions. Please note that you can utilize the same email with different tags, such as example@example.com and example+foo@example.com. Both variations will deliver emails to the same inbox, allowing you to create multiple accounts without needing new email addresses.
- Add the Administrator Account to each organization: Repeat the process for each organization or network to where you want Lifecycle Manager to have access. Ensure that the same credentials are used consistently across all organizations.
- Log Into the new Administrator Account: Use the newly created administrator credentials to log in to the Meraki dashboard.
- Accept access invitations: Accept access to additional organizations if prompted, by clicking the link in the banner that appears upon login. This step grants the new administrator account the necessary permissions across the selected organizations.
- Generate an API Key for the new Administrator account: Navigate to Organization > API & Webhooks and follow the instructions to generate an API key: Generate API Key.
Please note and save your API key, as it provides authentication to all your organizations with the API enabled. If you lose or forget your API key, you will need to revoke it and generate a new one.
Enable Access for Each Organization - Optional
If you do not want Lifecycle Manager to access certain organizations via the API, we recommend creating a separate dashboard administrator for Lifecycle Manager, adding that administrator to the specific organizations you want it to access, and generating an API key for that administrator.
For each Meraki organization you would like to sync with Lifecycle Manager:
- Open the Meraki Org List, and select the organization you would like to sync
- Ensure you have Administrator user credentials at the organization
- Navigate to Organization Settings
- Scroll down to Dashboard API access, and select the checkbox to "Enable access"
- Click Save Changes
For every other organization/client in your Meraki account - Repeat the steps above for every other org (aka client) in your Meraki account that you would like to see in Lifecycle Manager.
Integration steps in Lifecycle Manager
Add integration credentials to Lifecycle Manager
- Enter the API Key: Go to the Meraki integration page in Lifecycle Manager and paste the API Key generated from your Meraki account.
- Save Your Setup: Click Save Meraki Setup to finalize the integration.
When you click Save Meraki Setup, Lifecycle Manager performs a full sync. When finished, you should be able to view your hardware assets in your account.
By following these steps, you will successfully integrate Cisco Meraki with Lifecycle Manager, giving you a unified view of your network devices and software assets across multiple organizations.
