This article leads you step-by-step through our Self-Service IT Asset Disposal process, ensuring you understand each phase from the initial selection of assets to the final order completion.
- Partners located in Hawaii and Alaska have access to the self-service option only.
Navigate to the top menu bar within Lifecycle Manager to begin the disposal process. Click on the Marketplace dropdown menu. Select IT Asset Disposal. Alternatively, the process is just as simple if you’re focusing on a particular client, just click on the IT Asset Disposal menu.
- Add the number and type of assets to be disposed
- Confirm shipping details
- Review and place order
- Arrange for package shipment
Asset disposal supports several asset types for disposal including workstations, servers, tablets, hard drives (individually), switches, network devices, IP phones, monitors, and scanners for US-based Pro users only. Incidentals like keyboards, cables, etc do not to be entered when placing an order. For any asset that doesn't fit into those pre-defined types, use the asset type labeled Other. Unsupported assets are UPS devices, batteries, and printers.

Step 1 of 4: Add the number and type of assets to be disposed
The disposal checkout workflow enables Partners to select various asset types as well as the number of assets to be disposed of.
- Click the Disposal button in your left-hand navigation bar.
- Click the Add button to select the asset type you are disposing of.
- Set the quantity of each asset type for disposal.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each asset type set for disposal.
- Select the Self service shipping option.
- Select the Assets of applicable types are unlocked checkbox. All applicable assets must have BIOS and/or iCloud unlocked. Selecting this is required to enable the Continue to Shipping button.
- Click Continue to Shipping.

Step 2 of 4: Confirm shipping details
From the Shipping section of the Disposal order, confirm the Pickup & return address of where the assets are being shipped from to ensure prompt and accurate pickup for your order.
- Confirm the Pickup & return address.
- If a different pickup location is required, click the Use a different address button to enter the new address information, and click Save address.
- Select All the assets are at this location checkbox. Selecting this is required to enable the Continue to Summary button.
- Click Continue to Summary.
After you’ve confirmed the pickup & return address, you'll be able to review and edit the details before placing an order.

Step 3 of 4: Review and place order
If your order summary does not match your physical order requirements, the Summary section enables you to confirm the complete order or make any adjustments including address updates, and the number of assets in order.
- Confirm the quantity of the assets in the order. Click the Edit button to adjust the asset types and quantity, if applicable.
- Confirm the Pickup & return address. If a different address is required, click Edit and then click Use a different address button to enter the new address information.
- Click Place order now.
After you’ve placed your order, you'll be able to schedule preferred pickup dates and times, if applicable.

Step 4 of 4: Arrange for package shipment
After your order has been placed, there a a few remaining steps to complete your order.
- Set the number of shipping labels needed and click Generate labels.
- Click Print to add shipping labels to your order.
- Choose a shipping option: Drop-off or Pickup.
- Drop off - arrange to drop your package(s) off at the nearest USPS location.
- Pickup - Schedule a pickup with USPS. Click the Pickup option to add to your package. Enter your name, email address, relevant information, and pickup date, and click Request pickup.
Each package must weigh less than 70 lbs/30 kgs in order for USPS to pick them up.
Note: if a pickup is not available at the selected address, you must print your shipping label(s) and bring your package(s) to your nearest USPS location for dropoff.
- Set the number of shipping labels needed and click Generate labels.
Once a disposal order is received and processed, we’ll send you a certificate confirming disposal and data destruction.
