Creating Reusable Contract Templates

Managing multiple client contracts can become repetitive—especially if you have a standard agreement applying to many clients or projects. Lifecycle Manager can save an existing contract as a template. Once a template is created, you can easily reuse it when adding new contracts or subscriptions for future projects.

On the Contracts List page, a template icon is applied at the end of each contract’s row. Locate the contract to reuse, then select the Template icon Contracts_template_icon.pngto open a Save contract as template dialog. Give the new template a clear, descriptive name to remind you of its purpose or contents, and click Save.

With your template now stored in Lifecycle Manager, you can recall it at any time to create a new contract based on the saved details.

What data Is saved in a contract template?

When you save an existing contract as a template, Lifecycle Manager automatically stores the following key fields:

  • Name – The descriptive name of the contract.
  • Account – The associated account or department.
  • Status – Indicates whether the contract is active, pending, or otherwise.
  • Impact – The importance or priority level assigned to the contract.
  • 3rd Party – Specifies if the contract involves an external vendor or service.
  • Billing Cycle – Defines how often billing occurs (e.g., monthly, annually, etc).
  • Cost Type – Indicates how costs are tracked, such as actual or estimated.

Using contract templates

Once you’ve created at least one contract template, you can put it to work whenever you add a new contract. To do so, open your Contracts List page and select New Contract. In the New contract form, select the Template dropdown to reveal all of the templates you’ve saved.

Pick the template you’d like to use, and Lifecycle Manager will automatically populate your new contract with the details from that template. From there, you can edit any of the pre-filled fields to suit the specific needs of your new contract.

This approach saves you time by leveraging the information you’ve already set up, making the contract-creation process faster and more consistent.

Modify any fields specific to the new contract, and click Create.
