Category and item weights in Lifecycle Manager X assessments determine how much each part of the assessment contributes to the final score.

Who can use this feature?
• Partners with Lifecycle Manager X features enabled for a client

Default weighting

By default, Lifecycle Manager X applies equal weights across all categories and items.
This means each category contributes the same value to the overall score, and each item within a category has equal influence on the category score.
You can adjust these weights to better reflect your client's priorities or focus areas.

How weights affect the assessment score

The final assessment score is built from three layers of weighting:

  1. Responses determine the item score
    • Each assessment item gets a score based on the selected response.
      Example: Yes = 100%, No - 0%, Partial = 50%

  2. Item scores combine into the category score using Item weights
    • The weighted average of all item scores in a category produces the category score.
More highly weighted items have more influence on the category score.

  3. Category scores combine into the overall assessment score using category weights
    • The weighted average of all category scores produces the final assessment score.
Categories with higher weights have more influence over the final result.

Note:

  • All item weights within a category must add up to 100%.
  • All category weights across the assessment must add up to 100%.

A well-weighted assessment helps you deliver more meaningful insights, guide smarter client conversations, and demonstrate the value of your recommendations.
