This article explains how to organize your client list into customizable segments to help you group clients by shared characteristics.

Creating a segment

Before you can assign a client to a segment, you need to create the segment in your Lifecycle Manager account settings. Follow these steps to create a new segment:

1. Hover over the settings icon in the upper right corner of Lifecycle Manager.
2. Click Account Settings.
3. Click Client List Segments in the left navigation panel.
4. Click the +New Segment button in the upper right of the screen.

A new segment appears in the list.

Editing a Segment

Segments can be customized on the Segments page using the options shown:

1. Segment Indicator - Select a color to help you easily identify each segment.
2. Segment Title - Enter a descriptive name for the segment.
3. # of clients - The number of clients currently assigned to the segment.
4. Remove - Delete the segment.

Assigning a client to a segment

There are two areas where a client can be assigned to a segment:

On the client list page

1. Click Clients from the top navigation bar in Lifecycle Manager.
2. In the Segment column, click the dropdown next to the client name.
3. Select the appropriate segment for that client.
   

On the clients' dashboard

1. Click the client's name to open their dashboard.
2. In the upper left corner, click the segment dropdown.
3. Select the segment you want to assign the client to.
   

The segment assignment is applied and saved immediately.

Filtering clients using segments

After assigning your clients to segments, you can quickly filter your client list by clicking the All Segments dropdown and choosing which segments you want to appear in the list.
