Deliverables templates let you reuse a consistent structure for QBRs and other client facing reports. Instead of rebuilding the same set of sections and configurations for each client, you can save that structure as a template and apply it whenever you create a new Deliverable.
This article explains how templates work, how to save a Deliverable as a template, and how to use and manage templates.

About Deliverable templates
A Deliverable template defines:
- Which sections are included.
- The order of those sections.
- The configuration applied to each section (such as filters and time ranges).
Saving a Deliverable as a template
Once you have built a Deliverable with the sections and configurations you want to reuse, you can save it as a template.
- Open the Deliverable that should be used as the basis for a template.
- Open the Deliverable settings by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the page.
- Click the Save as new template button in the upper right of the Deliverable Settings modal.
| Note: Future changes to a Deliverable don’t automatically update an existing template. If the structure needs to change, see the Editing templates section of this article. |
Creating a Deliverable from a template
Use templates when you want to apply a standard structure quickly across clients.
- Go to the client’s Deliverables page.
- Click + New Deliverable.
- Select Use template.
- In the template list, choose the template that best fits the type of meeting or report you are preparing.
- Click Next.
A new Deliverable is created for your client using the template’s sections and configuration. You can adjust sections and settings for that specific Deliverable as needed before publishing and sharing with your client.
Managing templates
Manage Deliverable templates from the Deliverables templates page in Account settings.
Opening Deliverables Templates
- In Lifecycle Manager, hover over the settings icon in the upper right of the screen, and choose Account Settings.
- From the left navigation panel, click Deliverables Templates.
(Alternatively, click Manage Templates in the upper right of any client's Deliverables page.) - At the top of the page, choose between ScalePad templates and Custom templates.
- Click the name of the template you want to view.
Editing templates
Opening a ScalePad template allows you to create an exact copy of it, and any changes you make will be saved as a custom template. You can rename the template, add sections, and make configuration changes.
See Adding and Configuring Deliverables sections for details on editing Deliverables.
Custom templates can also be edited, but changes will be saved to the existing template and will affect all future Deliverables created using that template.
If you need to delete any existing Custom templates, select the context menu to the left of the custom template and click Remove.
