Integrating with KnowBe4

KnowBe4 can be added as a ScalePad integration to enable the KnowBe4 report in Lifecycle Manager Deliverables. It syncs security awareness training data and keep user training status aligned with your asset and user records.

This article will guide you through the steps required to enable the KnowBe4 integration.

Before you begin: 

  • This integration is used exclusively for populating Lifecycle Manager Deliverables reports.
 

What you'll need:

  • Administrator access to your KnowBe4 Partner (MSP) Account.
  • A KnowBe4 Diamond tier subscription.

Who can use this feature?

  • ScalePad Hub Administrators
  • Users with Manage Sync Settings permissions in their ScalePad Hub account.
 

Step 1: Generate KnowBe4 API credentials (Click to expand)

Step 1: Generate KnowBe4 API credentials

  1. Log into your KnowBe4 Admin console.
     
  2. Make note of your account's region from the URL. This is required to complete the integration.


     
    • training.knowbe4.com: United States region
    • eu.knowbe4.com: European Union region
    • ca.knowbe4.com: Canadian region
    • de.knowbe4.com: German region
    • uk.knowbe4.com: United Kingdom region
       
  3. Click the drop-down beside your email address at the top of the screen, then select Account settings.


     
  4. In the left navigation panel, expand Account Integrations and click API.


     
  5. Click Product API to access your KnowBe4 API keys.


     
  6. From the Product API tab, click + Create New API Token in the upper right of the screen to generate a new token.


     
  7. Configure the token:
    1. Name: Enter an identifiable name for your token (eg. Lifecycle Manager Integration)
    2. Products: Select KSAT.
    3. Scopes: Select Read/Write.
    4. Expiration date:  Choose an expiry date for the token. When it expires, a new one must be generated and updated in the ScalePad Integration Center.
    5. User: Choose a User to be associated with the token.
    6. Status: Enabled

  8. Click Create Token.
  9. Copy the Product API token and keep it secure, you'll need it to complete the integration in the ScalePad Integration Center.

You should now have these pieces of information:

  • Your Knowbe4 region
  • Your Knowbe4 product API token

Proceed with the next step to complete the integration.

  1. Log into ScalePad as an administrator, or as a user with Manage sync settings permissions.
     
  2. From the ScalePad Hub landing page, click Integrations in the top navigation bar.


     
  3. Click the blue Add Integration button in the upper right of the Integrations page.


     
  4. On the Add Integration screen, use the search bar to find KnowBe4 and click the KnowBe4 tile.


     
  5. Enter the data gathered from KnowBe4 in Step 1 of this guide:
    1. Partner API key
    2. Account Region

  6. Click Connect Now.

 

After completing the steps in this guide, KnowBe4 data is accessible as a report in the Deliverables section for any of your Lifecycle Manager X clients.
