Lifecycle Manager allows you to control which clients your users have access to. You can create a user group and assign users to access only the clients in that group. This article guides you through the process of creating Client Groups and assigning users to them.

Who can use this feature?

  • Lifecycle Manager Administrators

Creating a Client Group

  1. Navigate to your account settings page by hovering over the settings icon in the upper right of Lifecycle Manager and clicking Account Settings.

  2. Click Client Groups from the navigation panel on the left.

  3. On the Client Groups page, click + New Client Group.

  4. Enter a Client Group Title in the modal, then click Confirm. The new Client Group will appear in the list.

  3. Repeat the steps above to add multiple users to the Client Group and click Confirm.

Bulk selecting and adding clients to a Client Group

Clients can also be added to a client group in bulk from the Client Settings page (Account Settings > Client Settings):

  1. Navigate to the Client Settings page by hovering over the settings icon in the upper right of Lifecycle Manager, clicking Account, and clicking Client Settings from the left navigation menu.
  2. Select clients by clicking the checkbox to the left of their name.
  3. Click Edit Client Group at the bottom of the client list.
  4. Choose the client group you want the selected clients to be part of from the dropdown list.
  5. Click Apply.

Client Groups and User Access

When a user is assigned to a Client Group, they only see the clients in that group.

  • The Clients list only displays clients they have access to. Other clients are hidden.
  • In the Global Roadmap, they only see Initiatives for their clients.
  • In the Global Meetings view, they only see Meetings for their clients.
  • On the Global M365 page, they only see M365 products tied to their clients.
  • On the Global Action Items page, they only see Action items for their clients.

Unassigned clients and deleted Client Groups

  • If a client isn't assigned to any Client Group, all users can access that client.
  • If a Client Group is deleted, all users regain access to the clients that were in that group.

Hardware and software visibility

Even if a user doesn't have access to a client, based on the Client Group setup, they can still see all of the hardware and software for all clients in the hardware and software consoles. Only the client-level views and global pages listed above are restricted.
