Writing data to Lifecycle Manager (custom fields & API)

This article covers what Lifecycle Manager supports today, what it doesn't, and alternative approaches for getting your data where you need it.

Can I map custom fields from my PSA or RMM into Lifecycle Manager?

No. Lifecycle Manager doesn't support mapping data from custom fields, UDFs, or configuration questions from your integrations. Only predefined fields are synced.

If you previously used Lifecycle Insights (LCI), you may have had custom field mapping configured. This functionality isn't available in Lifecycle Manager today.

Can I write data to Lifecycle Manager using the API?

Yes. The ScalePad Public API offers selective write capabilities in Lifecycle Manager. You can use the API to write your preferred data into predefined Lifecycle Manager fields programmatically.

The API supports writing to select Lifecycle Manager objects, including:

  • Notes
  • Meetings
  • Goals
  • Initiatives
  • Action items
  • Contracts
  • Assessments

To get started, review the API documentation for available endpoints, authentication, and supported operations.

Note: ScalePad provides the API and documentation. Building and maintaining any custom integrations is outside of our scope of our support.

Can I write Lifecycle Manager data back to a UDF in my RMM or PSA?

Not through the standard integration. Lifecycle Manager's built-in write-back is limited to the Warranty Expiration Date and Purchase Date fields, and only to the integrations that support them.

Writing other Lifecycle Manager values (such as device age or asset type) to custom fields or UDFs in your RMM or PSA isn't supported today.

What can I do if I need custom field functionality?

If your workflow depends on custom fields, here are your options:

  1. Use the ScalePad Public API — Write data into predefined Lifecycle Manager fields programmatically. Review the API documentation to see what's available.
  2. Submit a product idea — Share your use case with our Product team through the ScalePad Community. Search for existing ideas and add your upvote, or create a new product idea if one doesn't exist.
  3. Reach out to support — If you have a specific workflow in mind, our support team can confirm what's possible with your current setup and point you in the right direction.
