Your Software console is where you'll find everything you need to know about each and every software asset on the hardware assets under your management. Similar to our Hardware console, you'll be able to view any or all of your software assets that are synced into your account.
Navigate here by clicking Software in your left-hand navigation bar.

The total software assets under your management are divided into Supported, Unsupported, Unsupported Soon, and Unknown. See the following table for definitions:

Supported |
This asset is currently eligible for support from the software vendor according to the terms and conditions at the time of purchase. |
Unsupported |
This software asset has passed its lifecycle policy end-of-support date and will no longer receive any updates from the vendor. |
Unsupported soon |
The vendor will continue to provide servicing and support and stop providing updates for this software asset once its product lifecycle policy end-of-support date has passed. |
Unknown |
If the status is unknown, either the vendor has not published documentation about support or lifecycle, or we have not found it. |

Search bar
You can also use the search bar to narrow down a search focus. The search bar acts as a filter and is really beneficial when you know exactly what you’re targeting. For example, using the search bar to identify a specific hardware manufacturer at a particular client running specific software to see if the installed version is supported.
Full word search only - The search is a full word search and not a substring search, so partial words, such as Artery, in this case, return no results. Ensure that space is used between each full word.
For example, if the client you want to focus a search on is ArteryGold Technologies, enter ArteryGold. To further refine the search, enter a manufacturer’s name and then the installed software. As an example, Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable. The full word search could look like ArteryGold Dell C++ 2013.
Software Status
SAM provides a lookup to compare an imported software assets version to our own reference library of latest software versions is searches, dashboards, and reports. The statuses are Supported, Unsupported Soon, and Unsupported.
Supported, even if it's not the latest
There may be cases where software assets will appear with a supported status, even if it's not the latest version.
For example, Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise edition may be version "1809" or "20H2" which is currently supported even though the latest version is indicated when you select the latest version in the Any version status filter. The green supported status indicates the supported version.
Unsupported Soon
There will be cases where software assets will appear with a Yellow Unsupported Soon status.
For example, Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise edition may be version "2004" which reached the end of servicing on December 14, 2021.
