Lifecycle Manager Reports

To manage both hardware and software assets, Lifecycle Manager offers reports designed to provide insights across multiple facets of a client’s technology ecosystem. These reports help streamline asset tracking but can also ensure compliance, optimize cost allocation, and support strategic decision-making.

In the Lifecycle Manager Help Center under the Using Lifecycle Manager menu, in the Business Strategy > Reporting and Client Engagement > Scheduled Reports section, you can find all reports referenced in this article.

Whether you're working with software installations, tracking hardware warranty statuses, or forecasting client needs, Lifecycle Manager's flexible reports help drive management strategies, with detailed insights into how they align with your organization's objectives and how you can leverage them for better decision-making.

This article highlights five core reports that can address areas for successful hardware and software asset management, such as:

  • Tracking software and hardware deployments
  • Maintaining compliance
  • Monitoring license information (MS365)
  • Analyzing resource allocations
  • Forecasting client needs

The following section explores how each report type—from software-focused compliance to hardware lifecycle oversight and license management—can help you proactively identify risks, improve processes, and optimize both software and hardware investments. Additionally, we’ll look at how available custom reporting can be implemented to suit more nuanced needs.  The reports are:

  1. Software Summary report
  2. Client Summary report
  3. Hardware lifecycle report
  4. Microsft 365 license reports
  5. Custom reports

Available Reports in Lifecycle Manager

Software Summary report

Software compliance status

  • Purpose: Provides an overview of a client's software inventory and support statuses, helping you quickly identify at-risk or unsupported applications that could compromise compliance and security.
  • Key Insights: Pinpoints potential vulnerabilities in the software environment—such as end-of-support or obsolete versions of operating systems—so you can prioritize upgrades, replacements, or other corrective measures to maintain compliance and mitigate security risks.

Client Summary report

Revenue forecasting

  • Purpose: Delivers a breakdown of potential sales opportunities by device type and client, enabling you to plan hardware upgrades, forecast revenue, and develop targeted client strategies.
  • Key Insights: This report highlights high-value replacement or upgrade opportunities and supports informed budget planning.

Hardware Lifecycle report

Hardware compliance status

  • Purpose: Delivers a branded, itemized overview of hardware assets with their warranty coverage and replacement policies (e.g., maximum replacement age), enabling you to quickly see which devices are overdue or nearing the end of support.
  • Key Insights: Pinpoints assets that fall outside defined lifecycle parameters—such as expired warranties or exceeded replacement ages—and clarifies their status so you can plan maintenance, replacements, or renewals.

Microsoft 365 license reports

Entitlement vs. deployment

  • Purpose: Compares Microsoft 365 license entitlements against actual assignments and usage, offering a clear view of license deployment across an organization.
  • Key Insights: Exposes any over- or under-assigned licenses, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements while optimizing costs by aligning license needs with actual usage patterns.

Custom reports

Custom reports can display a range of data (hardware age, warranty status, software installs, etc.), and they can be configured in several ways. Three examples are:

Compliance status reporting

  • By filtering for assets that are unsupported, out-of-warranty, or running outdated software, you can create a compliance-focused report identifying items requiring immediate attention.

Hardware lifecycle reporting

  • Including information such as purchase dates and warranty expiration, plus using filters for maximum replacement ages, a custom report provides an at-a-glance overview of hardware replacement needs and support status.

Software deployment reporting

  • Custom reports can provide valuable insights into software utilization by allowing for the selection of filters based on active installations and software categories. This information can identify instances of over-utilized or under-utilized software.

Configuring automated distribution and personalized email templates

Lifecycle Manager enables you to automate distribution and customize communications for different clients. By editing the global email template, scheduling automated report deliveries, and tailoring client-specific messaging, you ensure stakeholders receive relevant information in a consistent, professional format. The following are key steps to get started:
