Assessment items can be configured in each assessment template to suit your clients' specific needs. This article guides you through setting up assessment items.

Who can use this feature?
• Partners with Lifecycle Manager X features enabled for a client

The assessment item type determines how the assessor will answer it during an assessment. Select the appropriate type, then define the specific responses the assessor will choose from.

Here's how each type works:

  • Yes/No
    • The assessor selects either yes or no. This option would be used when the response to the question is a binary yes or no answer.

Example: "Are all critical systems covered by a support contract?"
      • Yes - "All critical systems are covered"
      • No - "Some critical systems are not covered"
        Yes No Assessment item

  • Yes / No /  Partial
    • The assessor selects Yes, No or Partial.

Example: "Is MFA enabled on all user accounts?"
      • Yes - "MFA is enabled for all user accounts"
      • No - "MFA is not enabled for any user accounts"
      • Partial - "MFA is enabled for some user accounts, but not all"
        Yes no partial assessment item

  • Multi Response
    • The assessor selects from a list of responses.

Example: "What is the current status of the disaster recovery plan?"
      • Satisfactory - "Plan is up to date and tested"
      • Needs Attention - "Plan exists, but hasn't been tested recently"
      • At Risk - "No plan or an outdated plan"
      • Unknown - "Status of the plan is not known"
        Multi response assessment item

Adding and Removing Responses

Click the + Add response button to add a new response to the list. The new response can be edited and a description added, just like a default response.

Click the - button to the right of the response description to remove any unnecessary responses from the list.

Next Steps

The types and responses you set up are only part of how assessments are scored. Weighting - which lets you control how much each category and item contributes to the overall score - plays a key role in shaping final results.

For details on how weighting works and how to apply it effectively, see About Weighting in assessments.
