SaaS Management in Lifecycle Manager lets you see which desktop and SaaS applications your clients are actually using, as well as which AI tools are in use across their environments.
A lightweight agent installed on client devices collects application usage data and shows it on the SaaS Management dashboard. You can use this data to find licenses that aren't being used and see which applications are being used without your approval.
What SaaS Management collects
The agent collects information about which applications are being used and basic information about the device itself. It doesn't capture the content of anything done inside those applications.
Collected:
- Names of desktop applications being used and how long they're used for.
- Web domains visited. Full URLs and page titles are not collected.
- Device information, including Manufacturer, CPU, RAM, and operating system.
- Security settings, including whether disk encryption and the firewall are enabled.
- A list of software installed on the device.
Not collected:
- Keystrokes, screenshots, or file contents.
- Email or message content.
- Anything a user types, reads, or sees inside an application
How SaaS Management is used
You can use SaaS Management for a range of client-facing conversations, including:
-
Quarterly business reviews (QBRs)
Show clients which applications are being used, which aren't and where their software spend is going. -
License reviews and renewals
Find applications that aren't being used so you can recommend reducing licenses at renewal time. -
Reviewing unapproved applications
See which applications are being used that haven't been approved by you or the client. -
Tracking AI use
See which AI tools are being used across a client's environment and by which users. -
Onboarding new clients
Within 24 hours of deploying the agent, get a complete picture of the applications running on a client's devices.
Data collection modes
You can control what data the agent collects by setting a collection mode at the client or device level. SaaS Management has three modes:
-
SaaS Usage
Collects application usage, web domains, and device information. This is the default mode. -
Device Data Only
Collects device information only. No application usage or web domain data is collected. -
Disabled
The agent stays installed but doesn't collect any data.
