Working with Deliverables Templates (New UI)

Deliverable templates give you a reusable structure for QBRs and other client reports. Instead of rebuilding the same structure every time, you can save a configured Deliverable as a template and apply it to new clients. This article explains how templates work, how to create one, and how to use and manage templates.

The new Lifecycle Manager UI is in Open Beta
You might notice occasional changes as we continue to refine this feature.

What you'll need:

  • A Lifecycle Manager X license applied to clients for whom you want to use Deliverables.

Accessing Deliverables Templates

Open a client's Deliverables page (Client picker > client name > Engage > Deliverables) and click the Templates tab.
Alternatively, click your account name in the upper left, then Account Settings > Deliverables

Both show the same template library.

About Deliverable templates

A Deliverable template captures a Deliverable's structure so you can reuse it across clients instead of rebuilding it each time. A template defines:

  • Which sections are included - the Core, Custom, and Integration sections that make up the Deliverable.
  • The order of those sections - the sequence they appear in when presented, shared, or downloaded as a PDF.
  • The configuration for each section - the content toggles, column choices, and PDF options set for that section.

A template only defines this structure and configuration, not the data itself. When you create a Deliverable from a template, each section pulls that client's own live data in automatically.

Creating a new template

Templates are shared with your whole MSP account, so any template you create is available across all your clients.

  1. Click + New Template.
  2. Enter a Template name.
  3. Optionally, enter a Description.
  4. Under Start From, choose Blank Template or select an existing template to use as a starting point.
  5. Click Create template.

Creating a Deliverable from a template

Once a template exists, go to the client's Deliverables page and click + New Deliverable > From a Template, then choose it to create a new Deliverable with that template's sections and configuration already in place.

For the full steps, see Creating a Deliverable (New UI).

Browsing templates

  1. Use the search field to find a template by name, or use the Source filter to show only ScalePad templates or only Custom templates.
  2. Click a template's name to open it.

Templates are grouped by source (ScalePad or Custom), and each entry shows its description and section count.

Duplicating a template

  1. In the Templates tab, click the overflow menu beside the template you want to duplicate.
  2. Click Duplicate.

For a ScalePad template, you can also open it and click Duplicate in the upper right of its read-only view.

The duplicate is added to your Custom templates, named "Copy of [template name]," and opens ready to edit.

Duplicating is also the only way to customize a ScalePad template, since ScalePad templates themselves can't be edited directly.

Editing a template

  1. In the Templates tab, click a Custom template's name to open it.
  2. Click the template's name at the top to rename it, or add sections and change configuration the same way you would for any Deliverable.
Note: Changing a template doesn't affect Deliverables that were already created from it. Only Deliverables created from the template afterward will include the update.

Deleting a template

  1. In the Templates tab, click the overflow menu beside the Custom template you want to remove.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Confirm by clicking Yes, Delete Template in the pop-up. This can't be undone.

Deleting a template only removes it from the list you choose from when creating a new Deliverable; Deliverables already created from it aren't affected.

ScalePad templates can't be deleted; their overflow menu only offers Duplicate.
