This article explains how to use goals to track progress, connect your work to client objectives and keep your recommendations aligned with what matters most to your clients.

Who can use this feature?

Accessing the goals page
- Click the client picker dropdown beneath your account name in the upper left of the page.
- Select the client's name from the list (Use the search box to find a specific client, if required).
The client's name will appear in the client picker to show which client you're currently viewing.
- In the Plan section of the left navigation panel, click Goals.
Navigating the client goals list
Client Goals can be quickly filtered using three options at the top of the list:
- Total - Shows all client Goals, regardless of their status.
- On Track - Shows only client Goals with a Status of On Track
- At Risk - Shows only client Goals with a status of At Risk
- Off track - Shows only client goals with a status of Off Track
More status filters can be applied using the filter dropdown check the boxes beside each status you want to display in the list. In addition to the above, there are a further two options available to filter:
- On Hold - Shows client Goals with a status of On Hold
- Complete - Shows completed Goals
Viewing Goals
Each Goal displayed in the list can be identified by its title. The status, period, and most recent update are shown alongside each Goal.
You can see more details about each goal by clicking it's title. A drawer slides out showing more information about the chosen Goal.
- Title - The name of the Goal.
- Status - The status applied to the Goal. Click to update the status.
- Target Period - The period by which this Goal should be achieved.
- Client name - Name of the client this Goal applies to.
- Description - The Goal description. Click to edit the description.
- Outcomes - Outcomes associated with this goal. Click + Add outcome to add multiple outcomes to the Goal.

Linking items to Goals
You can link Initiatives, meetings, and tasks to goals from the selected goal's details panel.
- Click + Add Linked Item.
- Select the type of item you want to link to.
- Initiative
- Meeting
- Task
- Choose between Create New or Link Existing.
- Populate the details for a new item, or select an existing one.
New items will automatically appear in the relevant section of the client's dashboard and will be displayed as linked to the goal.
Adding a new Goal
To create a new goal from scratch for your client:
- Click + New Goal. A form will drop down for you to populate.
- Add a Title, describing the goal.
- Click each pill, and select:
- A Status
- A Target period
- Desired Outcomes
- Initiatives to link the goal to (New or existing)
- Meetings to link the goal to (New or existing)
- Click Save to create the new Goal.
Creating a Goal using a template
To use a template to create a new goal:
- Click + New Goal. A form will drop down.
- Click Template.
- From the dropdown, you can search or filter your templates:
- All - Shows all templates.
- ScalePad - Shows templates made by ScalePad for common Goals.
- Custom - Shows custom templates, created by your team.
- Select the template you want to use.
- Click Save.
If any initiatives are associated with the template you've selected, they will automatically be created and linked to the Goal.
